Mark Brandsma and his wife Tammy traveled to Ethiopia for their third time since 2015. While living there from August 2014 – April 2015, Mark helped build a program for families looking to become self-sufficient through small business. This trip was an opportunity to witness first hand the benefits of that program. Mark was encouraged to see the start-up of several new businesses including a road-side French fry stand, a charcoal and vegetable retail stand, and a used clothing business. It was also a time to reconnect with old friends, encourage the Ethiopia leadership staff, and to welcome 10 new families into the program.
Neil Harker and his family traveled to Australia to celebrate an incredible milestone, his mother’s 100th Birthday.
Jeff Chapman and Marlene Enns represented Covenant as a Gold sponsor at the Entrepreneurial Leaders Conferences held in Toronto and Vancouver.
Our annual Christmas staff and spouse event usually includes a fun activity. This year we all traveled via Limo bus and choose to be ‘Trapped’. Here we participated in an escape room experience. What an adventure! Solving clues together, adrenaline peaked by the ticking clock. Out of the four teams, two teams made it out. Unfortunately, the team in the medieval prison did not get out. Great team event. Afterwards, we shared stories over lunch at the Cactus Club. Now. . . what will we do next year?
Cheryl Schmidt adopted a new member into her family. Milo, a seven-year-old black Schnoodle that now joins her and her husband Burk on their daily early morning walks.
